Insight practice in silence
A stay in a monastery means withdrawing for some time in order to come to rest at a distance from everyday life, to arrive at oneself, to reflect on the essentials again and to deepen processes and insights that are already underway. A monastery stay is therefore just as suitable for beginners as for those who want to strengthen their own ongoing practice. During meditation in all three body positions - walking, standing, sitting - concentration on the breath, the body or another object is practiced, and for advanced meditators Vipassana - insight, clear-sightedness.
Practice in the nearby forest
This place offers the possibility to dedicate oneself completely to the present moment and to take life as it comes each day. A plan without a plan - a living practice that is at the same time completely focused on disciplined inner work with one's personal patterns.
Since every day and all people are different, all stays are different.
There is silence. Silence is helpful in recognizing and dissolving one's own concepts. Meditation does not take place only on the cushion: All actions - eating, walking, going to the toilet - are done in mindfulness, in quiet concentration on the present moment, without wanting to achieve or evaluate anything. Therefore all the visitors participate in some of the tasks that need to be done in the monastery - such as gardening or cleaning the rooms and the house. Experiencing oneself in harmony with nature is also an essential part of the practice.
