Stay

General

There is no fee for the stay, as the monastery is supported purely by donations, however, please note that the maintenance of the monastery costs money and this is only possible through donations.

Daily schedule for guests

For the first stay in the monastery

Notes

Participation in the Monastery's offerings is at the individual's own responsibility. The monastery is not a therapy center, a drug rehab clinic, a wellness center, a leisure hostel or an individual retreat.

Participation requirements for a stay are sound mental health, discipline and a firm decision to practice. For the practice to bear fruit, all visitors must be willing to follow the monastery rules and fit into the daily routine.

  • Before registering, please read all the residency information carefully.
  • Click here to register for a monastic stay. Please also send us a completed Guest form or bring it with you to the stay.
  • Since it is a small place, we welcome you to write a short introduction about yourself and your practice.
  • It is possible to participate in a monastic stay together as friends or partners, however, with a focus on oneself - any communication shall be postponed to the time after the stay.
  • It is requested not to communicate with the outside world during the stay and not to use your own watches. Personal matters should be taken care of beforehand.
  • The house and grounds are smoke free, a stay is a completely smoke and coffee free time.
  • Note because of allergies: Two cats live with us.
  • On the day of arrival we can only be reached by phone, not by mail, for short notice arrangements.
  • In particular, please bring: Bed linen, towel, sturdy shoes for work -indoor/outdoor or for forest walks, comfortable and if necessary weatherproof clothes, work clothes for the garden.
  • If there are food intolerances or other restrictions, please let us know.

Silena Nibbutim Yanti - Virtue is a vehicle to peace.

  1. To refrain from intentionally taking the life of any living creature.
  2. To refrain from taking what is not given.
  3. To refrain from any sexual activity: no physical contact or intimacy.
  4. To refrain from dishonest speech.
  5. To refrain from using alcohol or non-medicinal drugs.
  6. To refrain from eating after noon.
  7. To refrain from dancing, singing, playing music, and wearing cosmetics, perfume, and jewellery.
  8. To refrain from using luxurious beds and seats.

Please come in plain, skin-covering clothing. White clothing - loose and long sleeved - will also be provided at the monastery. This serves to support the practice by, for example, creating more distance from everyday life, not focusing thoughts on "What do I wear? And how do I look?" and not distracting the mind through the simplicity and expansiveness of the clothing.

We look forward to practicing together!
