Project barn renovation

Expansion of the monastery

For two and a half thousand years, the Dhamma has lived on through the generosity in the heart of both, laity and ordained. In the footprints of the Buddha, monks and nuns have walked since ancient times. For the persistens of the Dhamma, this place is dedicated.

Sirisampanno Monastery includes the main house, the barn and the surrounding garden with two simple garden kutis. The monastery has been established from the former demolished house in the past seven years. A small community now lives and practices here and guests can also participate in monastic life.

Now this place shall be further developed, because a spacious Dhamma hall and other rooms are still missing. For this purpose, we want to renovate the old barn in a next step. In addition to the Dhamma hall, a Dāna and dining room for guests, a sanitary area, a library, an office and several sleeping rooms are planned.

Our efforts are now directed towards creating space for up to five nuns in the main house and towards establishing the new area as a gathering place for nuns, interested visitors, supporters and guests. Community actions such as ordinations and the reciting of the patimokkha could be held in the new Dhamma hall as well as Dhamma talks, walking and sitting meditation in community or as individual practice. A proper Sima could be established.

Für den Umbau liegen die Pläne von einem Architekten sowie die Baugenehmigung bereits vor. Hier in der Region gibt es eine Förderung, die
supports the expansion of buildings former used for agricultural purposes.
It subsidises the conversion with over 50% of the total amount.

Der finanzielle Eigenanteil an der Gesamtsumme
beläuft sich lauf Kostenplanung von 2021 auf ca.
200.000 – 250.000 Euro. Aufgrund steigender Baupreise kann eine Steigerung dieses Betrages nicht ausgeschlossen werden.

The regional subsidy of €250,000 requires pre-financing. Subsequently, this will be reimbursed at the end of the conversion or after 1.5 years at the latest.

The development of the monastery needs people who support this place out of joy and trust. So that the Buddha's teachings remain alive and can be passed on. For peace in the world and in one's own mind.

May this place be a good cause for liberation from suffering for all beings.
