The Kathina celebration at the Maha Vihara

The Kathina Ceremony takes place at the end of the rainy season retreat and gives the laity an opportunity to donate robes and robe fabric to the monks and nuns.

The monastic community Sirisampanno was invited to this ceremony in the Sinhalese temple Maha Vihara in Schneverdingen. Guests were Bhante Seelawansa and monks and lay supporters from all over Germany.

Lunch was prepared with a lot of love and devotion by the Sinhalese community.

In the afternoon there was a lecture by Bhante Seelawansa and the handing over of the Kathina robe to the new abbot of the temple Bhante Assaji.
