Project barn renovation

Expansion of the monastery

For two and a half thousand years, the Dhamma has lived on through the generosity in the heart of both, laity and ordained. In the footprints of the Buddha, monks and nuns have walked since ancient times. For the persistens of the Dhamma, this place is dedicated.

Sirisampanno Monastery includes the main house, the barn and the surrounding garden with two simple garden kutis. The monastery has been established from the former demolished house in the past nine years. A small community now lives and practices here and guests can also participate in monastic life.

This place is now being further developed because what is still missing is a spacious Dhamma hall and additional rooms. We are now in the process of renovating the old barn step by step. In addition to the Dhamma hall, there will also be a dining and eating area for guests, a sanitary area, a library, and several sleeping rooms.

Our efforts are focused on
creating space for up to five nuns in the old residential building and
expanding the new area as a meeting place for nuns, people interested in Dhamma,
supporters, and guests.

In the first construction phase, a large room is being created in the front section of the barn, converting the former cowshed into a space that can be used as a dining hall and library. A sanitary area with four toilets and four showers is also being built there, along with a pantry for food storage. This section can be developed independently from the rest of the barn.

This construction phase is now complete.

Both financial support and manual assistance of any kind are needed for the further construction work.

The development of the monastery needs people who support this place out of joy and trust. So that the Buddha's teachings remain alive and can be passed on. For peace in the world and in one's own mind.

May this place be a good cause for liberation from suffering for all beings.
